Today i thought i'd share some photos of the bunnies with you. Whisper and Jasper enjoy their time in the garden especially when its warm, but not too hot. They love fresh greens, which with an allotment we have plenty of. They love the stalk from sprouts and the leaves off cauliflowers. As well as herbs like mint or lemonbalm. Certain times of the year before the plants are established, they can't be out freely round the garden, or there would'nt be much greenery left! In this one below its a case of playing tug of war with a dandelion leaf! This is Jasper...

Though they have a large enclosed run, you'll most often find them lying together like this - sweet!

And lastly Whisper getting a wash, sometimes i think this is one of the cutest things to watch a rabbit washing its paws and ears, makes me smile everytime.

One stitch at a time

Sometimes making things takes a while, you have to take it a stitch at a time.

And you know, in a way, its not disimilar to the healing process. Adjustments are made along the way or things have to be pulled out a little and seemingly started over again. But in the long run it makes for a better end result.

This is me in 2007, (in the same dress as the Manoush picture above) i am more myself here,than at present. My energy level and health was better and i was able to get out, this was taken in a Starbucks!
I've missed doing things like that this past year or so. But i know its going to come back, just not sure exactly how long.

This past week has been a tougher one than normal, i have felt so poorly, hence my abscence from my blog. (if i owe you an email, i will be able to catch up in a little while, i have missed you)

Lately i have felt drawn to just surrendering to what is, letting go when i can, just stopping and letting a deeper part of me take the reigns. I've had to do this many times, come to an awareness that really we don't control everything and that that's ok. Its not as scarey as it sounds, infact it can take some of the pressure off....see sometimes i think its like the ebb and flow of the sea, we just have to roll with the tides and trust in its rhythm.

A blessing for Summer Solstice

As the sun spirals its longest dance,
Cleanse us
As nature shows bounty and fertility

Let all things live with loving intent
And to fulfill their truest destiny

Solstice, Midsummer or Litha means a stopping or standing still of the sun. It is the longest day of the year and the time when the sun is at its maximum elevation.

This date has had spiritual significance for thousands of years as humans have been amazed by the great power of the sun. The Celts celebrated with bonfires that would add to the sun's energy, Christians placed the feast of St John the Baptist towards the end of June and it is also the festival of Li, the Chinese Goddess of light.For some Pagans the Summer Solstice marks the marriage of the God and Goddess and see their union as the force that creates the harvest's fruits.

This is a time to celebrate growth and life.

When celebrating midsummer you can draw on diverse traditions. In England thousands of Pagans and non-Pagans go to places of ancient religious sites such as Stonehenge and Avebury to see the sun rising on the first morning of summer. This year some 20,000 people gathered at the stones...(info from here)

Further dreamcatching

Here are some gorgeous crochet dreamcatchers that i found on Sweet Jessie's etsy shop. The little button and brooch details add that something special. Isnt it a good idea to use the crochet as the centre part.
The previous post contained a white dreamcatcher, for which the seller's shop now seems to have closed. I think these ones are a pretty alternative, like a shabby chic version of a dreamcatcher. Just right!

I thought i'd share my love of dreamcatchers today. Here are a few lines for a little background upon them....
"It is traditionally believed that a Dreamcatcher works by filtering a person's dreams,letting through only the good ones and catching the bad ones in the spider like web,where they disolve in the light of morning . For many years Dreamcatchers were only made by the Ojibwe people of the Chippewa tribe. The Ojibwe traditionally used the dreamcatchers as a charm to protect sleeping children from nightmares."

The Native American Dreamcatchers are handmade objects based on a hoop made of either willow or similar natural material with a loose net in the middle and decorated with items unique to the particular dreamcatcher and person who will use it.
There are many variations on the theme now, and here are a few i found that are just that little bit different and very lovingly crafted...

Its a new way of collecting together in one place, the pictures and products you find online that inspire you. You can form your own choice of pinboards....so far i have vintage-naturals, peaches and cream, butterfly finds and a few more.

Love each day

Today would be a lovely day to be a butterfly

These butterflies are just so gorgeous arent they. I love the work of photographer Susannah Tucker. I bought some cards from her etsy last year. This is what she says upon her blog...

"I am a self taught photographer who loves the warmth of the sun, watching the clouds drift across a blue sky, spring blossoms, the feel of sand and grass underfoot, rustic country scenes, all things vintage and brown paper packages wrapped in string. My favourite thing of all....getting lost in a daydream...."

Susannah sent me a really caring email, a few weeks back, after i shared here about the hard time i'd been going through with my healing. And then a few days ago this parcel arrived all the way from Australia....

Inside the brown paper package was one of her photo blocks with the words Today would be a lovely day to be a butterfly!(you know i love butterflies, and i also use the word Lovely quite alot!) So I adore it! And was so touched that she would want to do that for me.

The kindness of my friends through blogs never fails to uplift my heart and amaze me. I am going to find a special place to place the block, the good thing is there's plenty choice for display as they can either stand or go up on the wall.

This is a great post where Susannah explains about how she gets the dreamy blue background to her photos. There's a whole range of photo blocks to choose from in her etsy, here's a selection from the i heart butterflies range. And just lately she has added canvas bags with photo prints on them.

Tiny birds and butterflies

I'm devoting this post to the beautiful-ness that is Alex Monroe, as you know i'm a big fan of his jewellery. Its all nature themed so of course it attracts me because of the birds and butterflies that feature on many of the pieces.

I recently wanted to get something that i would be able to keep forever with some money that my grandparents left me.
I often watch out on Alex's website at the trunk show pieces, as these are one off designs, and can be really special, if a little hard to get hold of.

Anyway, the top necklace Mr and Mrs Butterfly, came up and it seemed so fitting as my Grandma just loved Butterflies. So it just had to be that as my keepsake.
When it arrived along with the silver bird earrings, they both looked even more beautiful than they had on screen and i know i'll enjoy them for years and years to come.

This is a spread from one of my Discovery Journals. I love Secret Gardens don't you. We all seem to have a love for that film from our childhood. You may remember i had my eye on the key necklace from Alex Monroe's line, a while ago. Well, I was able to get it in the winter and havent really taken it off since. I think it looks like a key to a Secret Garden. Maybe a garden full of flowers, birds, bees and butterflies, what do you think...

The little unicorn

This is my new unicorn, which i was lucky enough to find on ebay last week. i love the flowers and golden touches upon the china.

And this is the photo on Nancy's blog Wolf and Willow which initially drew my to this unicorn as she showed it so beautifully. When i saw this a few months ago now, i never thought one would come my way! I also noticed just as i was sharing the two photos here that we each have a similar floral item in the background!
Mine is a cath kidston bag i got a while ago, its proved so useful as everything stays in place and i can find what i need easily. I like the design too and when its in the garden i don't have to worry about it on the grass as its oilcloth.
