Hi sweeties,

after enjoying the healing benefits of some sunshine, its turned a bit wet out the past few days, i have still been feeling ok, so i was able to do something nice for a change and painted my nails in these new polishes from Paul and Joe's summer collection called A Midsummer's night.

When i saw them online at Asos, I had to get the one called Fairy Queen because its like they have been sprinkled with dust!

I used the paul and joe base coat, then a paul and joe colour (08) i have had for ages (their bottles keep in good condition for so long) and then the fairy queen on the top, sealing with a top coat.
The glitter is in flakes and is irridesecent, to me its like you have dipped your nails in tiny confetti pieces (smiles)

the photo above has not been filtered so you can get an idea of what the colour is really like, its adding some sparkle to my day and i love its delicacy,

Bright touches on cloudy days

 

 

I felt like painting my nails a nice uplifting colour.To make up for the grey skies.
So i chose this coraly pink, which i got lately from Wildswans.
Fnug is Scandinavian, and not a brand i have had before but i like how its turned out.
The colour is named "A-lister".

Pretty blossom & paper boats

I have wanted a pretty printed vest top for ages, but couldnt seem to find one in just the right colours - till now. I like how versatile jersey vests like this are, because i wear them over long sleeve T's when its cold, and then on their own or layer with another vest when its summer.
This one is from Jack Wills, a new company to me, that my friend Helen from the wonderful Icklebabe, introduced me to. (thanks sweets!)
The brand is aimed at those in their University days, i never went to University well unless you count the University of life, which for me at least has had a much more intense curiculum! with sadly no long spring breaks.... still that aside, the clothes are just my thing, pretty casual wear, in fabrics that are very nice quality, cut well and will last and last. Plus the prints they do are either Liberty or liberty-esque and involve plenty of tiny flowers, so as you can guess, I heart them all the more!

Blossom on my knee, i had my liberty fabric shorts on for a few days in March. I hope that was not the last that we see of the summer sunshine, i really need some this year.

Mam was showing me how to make paperboats, we used a letter to hand, it happens too be one from Mary's meals, a charity i support - their vison is that every child receives one meal a day in their place of education.

I am loving the soft oranges, coral and delicate pinks that are coming into the clothing i've been seeing online lately. 

These two looks are from the new spring summer range at Hush. Perfectly relaxed and utterly scrumptious.

More favourite fashion

Here are an assortment of my favourites from shops online right now. Its a mix of what i'd love to own, what i hope to buy, and what's caught my eye.

Compiling them i see i am quite drawn to green. I love that green bag by Beracamy of paris, which Urban outfitters are carrying this season. And the Antik Batik dress (sigh)

I do love Hush for lounge wear, which is what i am in most of the time. I also like ditsy floral prints, so that vest top at warehouse is yummy.

The Vanessa Bruno Athe top with the lace neckline, has given me inspiration to do something similar on a plain t shirt.

 

Again green pops up, and i like Ganni dresses, they're viscose as opposed to polyester and so nice, i got one for christmas in a different print, this one is cut the same and i like the turquoise.

Tba have beautiful pieces in their range, though i have never owned anything from the label i am always inspired by their lookbooks and would imagine wearing them if i needed something dressier for an occasion.

Favourite fashion online

 

The lovely Helen shared her fashion loves over at her blog the other day, and it made me think about compiling a post or two in a similar way.

I spend quite a bit of ipad time, browsing shops online, it makes up for not being able to get to the shopping malls. Despite not really having needed a lot of clothes over the years, my interest in fashion hasnt decreased. If anything, i love clothes all the more when i do get to wear them.

I also like to follow the designer labels, not to buy, but to source ideas, and see what's going to be copied and avaliable on the high street. Also sometimes at the likes of asos or urbanoutfitters, you can get some of the french labels i love at great sale prices, and that, plus ebay, means i have collected a few bits from the likes of Paul and Joe sister and Manoush that i wear season to season.

I first discovered my love of french labels when they did diffusion lines for the mail order catalogue La redoute. Over the years the likes of Isabel marant, Antik Batik, Paul and Joe and Manoush, along with Maje, Sandro, Et vous, Ba&sh and Repetto ballet shoes, have all had pieces in the mail order catalogue.

At present they are carrying some items by Vanessa Bruno Athe. Though i do find their website very poor and far from a pleasure to browse.

My favourite places to buy from are Asos, because of their brilliant site, fantastic returns and refunds being quick, a week, instead of say a month, that some places take. I also like Urban Outfitters, Zara and Topshop.

And my favourites to window shop are in France, they are Monshowroom and Medium Fashion gallery, you can see in the above collage the beautiful things that they stock, including Sessun, Apc and petite mendigote which are the most pretty leather bags.

My favourites for outfit inspiration are Pixie Market in the States, and Wild swans in the Uk.

My favourite boutique and mail order catalogue has to be Plumo, which i seem to have been getting forever, and i love how they collate things from all over into one collection. They are also carrying my favourite danish label ganni now.

I took them as inspiration.

And found the pieces below on the uk high street that I felt were in keeping with these looks.....

I particularly like the knitwear that River Island have just brought out with the tassels, and the lemon patchwork jeans at Warehouse, it was fun to compile these moodboards,

All Saints knitwear

In a roundabout sort of way i have Jeska to thank for this cardi coming my way. Since it was seeing her post that reminded me to go have a browse on the All Saints website.
That day they had quite a lot in the archive section, which i hadnt noticed before. Its where they sell off past season pieces. So this cardigan was around half the price it had been, as its from last winter's range.
I really love the different knits that make up the different sections, and the pointelle to the front. Its very cosy too, and i like that its a wintery white colour instead of grey, as i have too many grey things already.

The fatigue which is there as part of the illness, has been a little less all encompassing in the past few weeks. So I have taken more pictures, these ones, and a few more of bits n pieces around my room. I always like to have more personal content in my posts, and with a tinsy bit more energy this can be fulfilled, at least on some of the days (smiles)
