I believe in enjoying every moment and in creating a beautiful world around you and your family, with warmth, simplicity and love.-Sophie Conran
This beautiful wreath photo is by my friend Jasna. Its early for me to post again i know...but I just wanted to share that i had a lovely surprise yesterday...in the form of a comment from Sophie Conran who i mentioned in my previous post.
When i wrote it i had never imagined from one instant that she would read it or comment.Wasnt that nice of her to do. It turns out she collaborated with Arthouse on the wallpaper and its avaliable from B&Q and online from them here. Its quite expensive at £25 a roll-but with just one roll i think a feature wall would stand out beautifully. Her website is really well laid out and i took a browse through her links. She has some cook books avaliable on amazon here too. A brand new one called 'Soups and stews' sounds just right for this time of year. i love soup on a cold winter day don't you-warmth from the inside.
She also has a beautiful porcelain range at Portmeirion, which won the Elle decoration style award for best in kitchens. There is a picture below and this one of her is from the recent Aga campaign.
I am considering buying a roll of the paper to put away for the future, but can i trust that my taste will remain the same, and dare i hope that i will one day have a house to decorate? It can be hard holding back on my creative side when i have no place to call my own. Then i remember that its a small matter, compared to how far i have come. I am still here afterall, and mostly i am just grateful that at the home i share with my parents,i have a world around me of security, warmth and love. All the things so precious to a healing environment. If i get a house in the future it will be an added bonus. For so long it was an extremely far off dream to hold, but i think the ladder in the sky has been lowered a bit in recent years, so it isnt so high to climb now.( I am reassuring myself here, to feel a little less daunted by how far there is to go).
From my notebook: "I am always a firm believer in all things heavenly including dreams and definately angles, fairies and magic like that..... it is entirely possible,if we hold to our dreams, that they can come true for us.Everybody's dreams are inately special to them. its that specialness that imbues them with the exact amount of magic that they need in order to come true.we think we have to work to make them come about but often we just need to wish and believe and let go,and they come to us when the timing is just perfect."k
stay warm and love one another, Kathryn x
Wow Kat, how lovely to have Sophie commenting, I bought the issue of Red after you recommended it as I really like her style and the way she has decorated her flat. I love your wise words and that you are surrounded by warmth, security and love and I pray and hope that you will achieve your dream of owning your own beautiful house one day. Jackie Mxx

It is indeed lovely when someone takes the ime and trouble to acknowledge that you have mentioned them. A very gracious thing to do. And having read her comment I now know what to do with that pot of pink paint waiting in the shed!
