Colourful, romantic style

Remember a little while ago i entered Selina Lake's competition and was SO delighted to be a runner up, recieving her new book Romantic Style.

 Well one sunny day i sat on the grass and imagined i was sharing it with you all. I took photos as i turned the pages and have some of my favourites in this post.

I just LOVE this book, because it has everything i love about interiors. Vintage fabric, roses, repurposed furniture, eclectic mixes of old and new, framed art, white with colourful cushions....the list goes on!

 

 

 

I also feel the enthusiasm and love that Selina, Sara, and Debbie have placed into it. They really care about their subject and creating this book must have been a shared passion.

 To me this always adds to the reader's enjoyment of a book. It feels fresh and brimming with new ideas and interiors that haven't been seen before. It inspires with ideas for ways of decorating, that can be adapted to suit a smaller budget or smaller scale room. It has achieveable looks that uplift and brighten our everyday tasks.

 

I have divided the photos into two posts. This first one covers the brighter rooms and accents. I have a second post i'd like to create to share the softer room settings.

Oh, Kat, I'm SO happy you won Romantic Style. I just got my copy a few days ago and I LOVE it! I've been going very slowly through, savoring each page so it's not over too quickly. I'm often disappointed with big name decor books but this one is, as you say, very special and inspiring. I look forward to referring to it in the years to come and I'll think of sharing it with you, sitting on the grass in the sun. xo – g

This book is so fabulous! I love her style in general and adore Debbie and have all her books. But this one is so against the common spirit what I really love. It brings back so much romance and femininity!
