I gathered these images together today for my friend across the waves Julie in Australia. She shares so many photos and words that inspire me at her blog Rubyblooms, and recieving e-letters from her is always a beautiful start to any day. I also received this package of treasures in the mail from her lately, lots of magazine clippings for my collaging and some fabric thrifted pieces, and little books. Wasnt that such a lovely thoughtful thing...
So this collection of images is for you Julie, i hope they help you as your friendship helps me & thank you for being in my life xoxox
i wrote the following through the way these images seemed to speak to me and inspired by the healing gifts that certain friendships brings into our lives at just the right time that we need them to....
Through the language of friendship she seeks a belonging
taking turns before they appear,
finding distance where there was non before,
but then a stumble, a trip, and a place to fall.
She takes her loneliness and leaves it by the open door.
She walks through and finds there to be a pathway
shinning, each crevis set with a sparkling stone.
And she takes the steps as if they are being provided,
she finds she does not need her questions answered.
There is a silence that seems to provide every key
and yet there are no locked doors to open,
for there are no barriers to freedom anymore.
She took the step, she placed down the load that hindered
and there unfolded a path that had before been hidden.
She saw with brighter eyes, heard with acute understanding,
this pathway was her own now, and it was one she could tread with trust
Love and wishes

Julie,
I'm so glad you saw the post tonight honey.
I hoped I would have got it up in time but wasn't sure.
The time difference is so strange sometimes in that your Friday is ending and mine is really just starting :)
Your own "writing from the heart" at your blog & getting feedback from you and others through comments and emails here, really helps me to continue to have confidence to share my words.
Thank you! Love Kat x

This is a lovely post, Kat. I think you girls have a lot in common and seem to have a similar imagination, if that makes sense. Lovely pictures, Kat. What sweet gifts, they mean so much, treasures in the post. x
