One of the things i like to do, is create pretty post to mail to friends.
It's often about the buying of items and wrapping supplies on a budget
while still making gifts that are special.
One of the best ways to do this i have found, is to purchase items in sets that can be split up.
i thought i'd share what went into creating these postcard and pencil sets above.
I purchased the set of 28 postcards (which gave me 4 sets of the 7 different designs) and the set of 6 pencils from a shop online called Got to have it . - ( they arrived quickly and well packaged.)
I then gathered the above supplies from my craft items, Orla Kiely wrapping paper on a roll is avaliable at John Lewis online, the other items are things i have had for quite some time, but similar can be found at online scrapbooking shops.
From left to right : Prima paper flowers, Anna Griffin ribbons, Making memories brads, Pearl stickers, sellotape, Vintage mother of pearl buttons, ribbon with wording.
I cut ribbon to hold a set of 7 postcard designs together, i then stitched a paper flower and button onto the ribbon with a strip of verse.
The sets each had the same 7 cards, and i just placed a different image on the top of each one.
I then used the Orla Kiely wrapping paper to make little envelopes for the pencils. ( i didnt take a photo of the pencil designs as i hadnt planned on this blog post at the time of wrapping) Again placing a flower on each, with a ribbon beneath and securing with a brad, atop of the brad i placed a small pearl
I am pleased with the way they turned out especially as it has given me Orla Kiely items to send friends who i know love her designs alot, and they are things that are easy and light to pop in the mail too.

I'm working on a little something in return , it's taken a bit of time to come together as life and this ( sometimes) horrid illness got in the way, but it's coming ;)
Sorry to have missed so many of your blog posts too, although its been lovely sitting in the sunshine catching up with u xxxx

Oh theses are so lovely kat. I've just been looking at some OK pieces. I went o the Covent garden shop too when I was last in London. Even though the sale was on, the dress I liked was still a little over my budget :-(
