Sometimes i like to visit the blog The flower child dwelling, and the other evening through that i found Laura's blog i enjoyed her Sacred space post and her creations at Roots and Feathers on etsy
This is what Laura Michelle says at her blog
"My life is honestly very simple. I grew up with artisan parents, so its always run deep in my core to create. I work from home, here in Texas hillcountry, and spend my days creating, blogging, taking photos, loving on my animals, cooking meals for me and my husband, taking time to work on my soul growth, and occasionally giving myself space to do things for my body, like hooping and yoga.
I love to garden and water my plants everyday, and talk to the birds outside. Im contsantly redecorating my home and creating little spaces of peace in my immediate atmosphere, I find a big importance in this since I am here all day long.
I have alot of emotional healing to work through from many things that have fallen on my path thus far. I sometimes have great social anxiety, and sometimes am very free spirited and can talk to anyone... it fluxuates with the moon I suppose.
My blog here is my little sacred space to share my life. I share silly things like outfits I love to wear and things I like to eat or drink, along with much deeper things, like what is on my heart, or healing that I am going through. I also love to talk about other artisans I admire, and occasionally give updates on my own work. I dont have a set of rules here on my blog, like many do. Its pretty diverse in content, but always a part of me. "
Of course by now you can see why her blog resonated with me, she too is combining a healing and openness of spirit with a love of nature and creating from the soul. i love when i find bloggers who write openly like this, it encourages me in my own posting.
....and then through sweet Laura i found Alana Rose (in New York) of Run with the Tribe. and these are her words...
" Run With The Tribe began with the need to focus my creative energy ~~ offering a consistent line of talisman & comfortable eco-conscious clothing to inspire the journey of the Light Warrior. Having been a 'lone wolf' my entire life, the intention was set to call out to like-minded individuals and find the community, the tribe I have always longed to run with. The journey is my inspiration. Whether expressed through the pursuit of wanderlust or the internal journey that we all must face within our mind, heart & spirit."
What do these girls share, a journey of art love and spirit.
They are wild and free in their heart's.
as it says on Alana Rose's website
" art is my call to the Tribe
in dedication:
we're a Tribe of new folk free-thinkers
higher-consciousness seekers
meditation & yoga practicing
mindfulness awakening
creating with our hands
a caravan of backpack travelers, fire performers
& drum circle dancers
barefoot walkers with Totem animals
& feathers in our hair
the Tribe is on a journey
whether our feet do ramble
or our spirits ascend
while choosing the path of compassion
to find
we are all mirror reflections
within the Universal Mind "
Both Laura and Alana are nutured and inspired by native traditions and craftsmanship, as well as the intention of creating something with symbolism and deeper meaning. These are things rooted deep in my spirit also.
Their colour palettes are nature inspired, browns, reds, oranges, greens, using natural elements, feathers, beads, recycling threads and material and all with a sacred intention.
There is much to be inspired by as they weave their respect for nature, their connection to the Creator, and their love of freedom of expression through clothing and jewellery, into their harmonious creations. These girls are carving out their own path and its one which this post honours most deeply,
love and wishes
