I found some beautiful wild horse pictures lately. here's one above, if you want to see more just follow the link through. these horses are so free in heart, and in spirit, it must be amazing to watch them and work with them. I find there energy so uplifting and heartening. Its like they know something very wise that we don't,( or at we've lost connecton to it) it keeps them strong and peacefuly vibrant- know what i mean.
I am thinking about a dear friend of mine Annie, who is unwell and is going through a very tough time,so much so that she won't be able to read this message. A group of us who know her, but live apart from one another, joined in lighting a candle and sending our loving thoughts and prayers to her. It can be hard when there is nothing you can do and distance prevents a visit or a hug but i'm a believer that thoughts and prayers made with loving intent are carried to those in need and make a difference at a subtle yet worthwhile level.
Thoughts carry their own energy or vibration, when we think them they ripple out and affect so much more than our minds can percieve. I believe distance does not prevent Love from reaching us.
I guess its something mystics and believers have always intuited but which cutting edge science, such as metaphysics, is now able to percieve with the discovery of the unifying field of energy which all of life exisits within. They reach that point when they examine a particle and go as far as they can into it,smaller and smaller with a microscope, until they cannot go any further and where its all seen to be one energetic field- no longer can they sub divide or seperate. All life springs from and is contained within this field of energy. So nothing is entirely seperate. Here's a poem i like which sums it up eloquently...
Love's Philosophy
By Percy Bysshe Shelley |
The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion:
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by law divine
In one another's being mingle;
Why not I with thine?
See the mountains kiss high heaven
And the waves clasp one another
No sister flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother:
And sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea;
What are all these kissings worth
If thou kiss not me?
Its what the poets, ancient mystics, tribal elders, or faiths of many kinds have always spoken of, that we are One people, and what we do to ourselves or each other effects the whole. Just like if we pollute one area of the air or water it doesnt stay contained, it affects the world as a whole living organism.
So if i am throwing a pebble into a lake,making a prayer or a wish upon it for her peace (a lake just like the one the girl in the photo is beside) then its rippling out and touching my friend's heart however far away she is. I trust in her path and am hoping that after this time is over she will be able to recover anew and find brighter skies awaiting.
"blue skies are coming...and you know that its true"
-as Noah and the Whale sing,(click to listen i think you'll like it)

I too felt a bit teary but in a good way! I do feel less alone when after writing openly,i recieve such nice messages back. I think i was doing it because i needed to get down my thoughts and feelings. I'm so glad that some of you found it helpful too.
I know everyones experience is unique,yet its amazing sometimes how much we can gain from hearing about anothers similar experiences. Sometimes they come from people in totally different circumstamces or walks of life, but have a resonance with your heart in a deep way.
That happened to me lately with Kate, who shared her story of being attacked and burnt with acid and how she has had to rebuild her sense of self, combined with going through many operations and wearing special masks to help the healing of the skin on her face. She is So beautiful, dignified, brave, and her spirit immense. If you get a chance to see it repeated on channel4 or their webste then do its called My beautiful face. She spoke so openly of her emotions and her fears and through her courage i was inspired to keep going, and to keep believing that someone is out there for me, that there is always Hope of better times and always a reason to go on living. Thankyou for sharing your soul with us through the program Kate,truly thankyou soooo much and i am wishing you well.
Some of you kindly wrote in the comments that my own story and outlook is inspiring. If its found so, its through being inspired, sustained and uplifted by other people and their stories and teachings that help me.
Though people can see it as admirable to be optimistic, sometimes its felt like less of a choice and more about "I simply Have" to stay hopeful -its like breathing- if i didnt have it,and the Love of my family, i couldnt have kept going. Thats quite a scarey thing, but also makes you very grateful and is humbling.
To know that we can't always do everything on our own, that we need others, isnt something that people in everyday life like to dwell too much upon. Yet really its just what all life is about ,everywhere around us we are relying on others all the time for things like food, electricity, mail, heating, news, medicine, education,clothing.. the list goes on. We can forget this inter-dependancy when we can manage so much of our lives for ourselves,get caught up in our own thing, and in a way that probably contributes to the pressures some people feel to maintain it all alone.
Whether leaning on, turning to, or sharing with; being there for other people, is what makes a family and a community. We are never islands, it just becomes more apparent when ill that we need support. But whether carer or cared for, I do think we all have something equally valuable to give and contribute. We all learn and grow and are inspired by one another. Xx kat
