Cabbages and Roses a dreamy english company that produce the most beautiful faded floral fabrics. Similar in style to Rachel Ashwell. There range focuses on white linen with muted pastel designs of roses and vintage florals, along with some ticking stripes. They do bed sets, cushions, toiletry bags and my favourite the linen bags. I spotted they have some items in the sale section which are up to half price at the moment. In that section i recommend the linen bag in Beehive design, which is something i'm hoping to get for my birthday in a couple of weeks. You place an order and someone (who turned out to be a lovely) rings you back to confirm and take payment.
They also have a clothes range, drawing on inspirations from old English fashions in tweed and soft cottons. I saw a gorgeous floral maxi dress in Glamor this month but its not on their site. Maybe they'll have those in the summer.this is the page in Glamor...

I always find Emma Cassi's lace pieces so inspiring. Her use of vintage trims and sequins and in entirely unique ways, makes visiting her online shop or browsing her blog enteries feel like heaven! There is so much to take in. I think her blog is one of my favourites still after all this time. visit here
All images in this post are from emma's blog,she is french and a stylist,and she makes this exquisite lace jewelry and also paper garlands, and cards. The jewelry shown here is from her new collection for Spring 2010 and some, i imagine will be online in her shop soon. I love her use of lace and now that she is incorporating liberty fabric and pastel colors into her designs, i like it All even more, if that's possible!

She has some really pretty things! Before i go just had to mention I got some vintage china in the mail yesterday, its from a seller on ebay that i found. She has some gorgeous pieces and gives all the date and history details too. Will hope to share them with you soon, as i think, like me, you all love vintagey china with a history and a uniquenes don't you
There are a couple of things lately that i have been looking forward to sharing with you. This is the 1st, my new favourite book. Its a Rachel Ashwell, 'Shabby Chic Interiors - my rooms, treasures and trinkets', and features some rooms from her own home as well as the house Marilyn Monroe once lived in and some others. I just love the softened effect of the furnishings, the worn and reused furniture, trinkets and vintage mementoes. She has a way of styling that makes it look unstyled, just natural and lived in. There is something comforting about that. Maybe its because to Rachel, Shabby chic is not a contrived look, its something that she grew up with, her mother was into restoring antique dolls, and this partly gave her the interest in re purposing old fabric and trims. Its what she loves and that comes through in all her books including this one.
The title for this post treasures and trinkets comes off the subtitle to Rachel's book, but it is also one of my favourite things to say.I just love my own treasures and trinkets. As you can see i couldnt stop sharing some of the many many treasures to be found inside the pages of Rachel's book. I have a couple more things to post about from it in the coming days and weeks too. I hope you have found the pages inspiring, i know i always enjoy peeking inside a book that a blogger has reviewed because it gives me a better idea of whether to buy it or not. Rachel shares what she loves and its something i dream of doing too, and maybe i already am, in a small way by keeping my little blog and sharing my loves with you. A brand new Cath Kidston Book is on the horizon,(jane did you hear?) i pre ordered at Amazon, i think its due Oct/Nov. there's also some new season stock in on the web shop, i picked out these little luxuries to share here. I am addicted to the little zip purses. I have about 3 but am always tempted by the new designs arent you? There's also a nice vintage floral duvet set, a less bright design than there has been in the past. exciting kxx
Some of the great bargains at Plumo sale right now. including the wire card holder, centre, which i have on the back of my door, here's a pic below, and the tin birds which i have a pink and green one of, mine were bought at RE but these are a good buy as a set,as are the babushka magnets now at £7 for 6. This is the beautiful living space of designer Pearl Lowe as featured in The Style magazine (that comes with the Times on a Sunday) a few weeks ago now, there was also a shot of her bathroom, both heavenly spaces don't you think? Pearl is very into vintage lace and makes these curtain panels, dying them in an array of colors. Due to their delicacy and rarity they are very expensive and on sale in places like The Cross and Coco Ribbon,both boutiques in London.
I love vintage lace too and make cuffs or bracelets from time to time,i made this one the other day to go with the Noa Noa dress..love kat x

Previously Atlanta's book The relaxed home was my favourite, but this tops it. I think its the mix of images that just work so well and that different styles are covered under a generalised theme. They are...comfort, simplicity, function and individuality. with 5 facets to each look we are guided to choose which suits us best.
From the clean lines of Modern Elegance, the cosy comfort of Country Elegance, the quirky appeal of Retro Elegance, the soft sensuality of Feminine Elegance. They all sound so scrumptious don't they! Its bohemian style yes,quirky,and thrift markety too,but there is a touch more elegance to it than just that, as the title very fittingly sums up. kat x
This picture(isnt it the sweetest!)brought back a lovely childhood memory to me when i saw it....it reminded me of my all time favourite story as a little girl. Maybe you know of it too..it was in a book called 'Stories for 5 year olds' and was about a little girl discovering a tiny doll in a freezer in a supermarket where it had been discarded.
She went back and each day it was still there and of course it moved and talked - this being a story for a 5 year old. And the little girl took hand made clothes to the doll every time she went with her mum,because she was very concerned about the little doll getting cold. She took her a match box for a bed too i think. Eventually she decided, as no one had reclaimed her, that she would take her home and give her a warmer place to live.She loved that little doll and i loved the story so much. In later years there was a program on BBC1 that was called Tottie and it was also about a little doll,this time living in a doll's house.
The picture is from the book below Childhood treasures by Caroline Zoob which i know many of you will have as its been so popular. I'd looked through it many times but just not spotted the picture of the little doll. there is alot to take in within the pages. Some beautiful projects and details.
I will post up a few more photos of the pages on my flickr stream-as i always like to see inside a book in this way -it gives you so much more of an idea about whether to buy or not. interestingly i just visited posy's site and she has posted about another similar childhood book 'Childrens rooms' by Andrea Maflin which is styled similar. kat x
